This spatial dataset, surveyed at a scale of 1:2,000,000, provides polygon information on the Groundwater specifically (aquifer types and yields) of the Northern Territory. The purpose of this survey was to map, describe and evaluate the water resources information for planning and management
The aquifer units derived from NTGS 1:250,000 scale digital geology and from scanned 1:250,000 scale geology maps. Rock types with similar aquifer properties were grouped. The boundaries were then modified using water bore information. In certain areas aquifer boundaries were taken from existing groundwater maps.
