Statistical Boundary Data Set of the Northern Territory is to provide Government and agencies with the facility to access and combine whole of government statistics across agencies. It is created largely on the basis of the Digital Cadastral Database of the Northern Territory. These common statistical regional boundaries align with the Australian Bureau of Statistics' (ABS) Australian Standard Geographic Classification (ASGC 2006) to provide uniform demographic and spatial geography for Government policy development and implementation.
Urban - Digitised from the best available mapping, usually 1:2500 Rural - Digitised survey plans controlled via model adjustment program Pastoral - Digitised from the best available mapping, usually 1:500000. GPS and other control has been used for maintenance where it is supplied.
