Aggregated Way Segment (or Agg Way Segment) represents a set of road segments that share a common function or characteristic. It is a line feature class of the NSW Digital Topographic Database ( DTDB) within the Transportation theme. An Aggregated Way Segment is normally contiguous but this is not mandatory. Aggregated Way Segments have same geometries as Road Segment features. Aggregated Way Segment provides a ‘staging class’ for the auto generation and maintenance of the Aggregated Way feature class. Aggregated Way Segment geometries are derived from line features in the Road Segment feature class from within the same database. An aggregated way segment may be a National highway, RTA state highway, RTA main road, RTA secondary road, RTA Metroad, RTA on road cycle way, off road cycle way, national route, RTA state route, RTA motor way, RTA A-class route, RTA B-Class and or RTA T-way, Named walking or bridle track These classifications can be found in the way type attribute field. Aggregated Way Segment geometries are derived from line features in the Road Segment feature class from the same database. A road segment can belong to more than one Aggregated Way Segment. Aggregated Way Segments do not have an implied topology, that is, they are not necessarily connected to other Aggregated Way Segments, and do not necessarily form a complete network. There is no overall accuracy reported in the database, however accuracy of the individual feature instances of each feature class can be found in the database tables. The currency of the feature instances in this dataset can be found in “feature reliability date” or “attribute reliability date” attributes. All feature instances in this class are attributed with a planimetric accuracy value. It is expected that the 90% of well-defined points with the same planimetric accuracy are within 0.5mm of that map scale. Depending on the capture source, capture method, digital update and control point upgrade, every feature instance reported has a positional accuracy within the range of 1m - 100m. For detailed definitions on all feature classes and attributes, refer to the DTDB Data Dictionary.
