Dataset Lineage

This dataset covers the Murray Darling basin and all east coast drainage basins from Cape York to the NSW border and the Eastern Cape York and Normanby Basins which completes the reef catchments current to June 2010. This dataset is based on the GeoScience Australia 1:100,000 drainage network of Queensland (where 1:100,000 exists) and has streams connected and directionalised with reaches ordered using a DERM inhouse process using the Strahler method of stream ordering. At June 2009 the Murray Darling basin and all east coast drainage basins from Cape York to the NSW border were completed. At June 2010 the Eastern Cape York and Normanby Basins were added. This completes the reef catchments.
